YarnBombing Townsville Flinders Street, outside MaryWho bookshop

Here are some photos of Fibres members yarnbombing (with permission) one area of Flinders Street in Townsville for Christmas..  We arrived early, some (me) a bit later than others....   It was a great time of day to start as we were well and truly finished and eating breakfast before it got hot..  and we were extra lucky that our side of the street was in the shade.
Involved were Suzanne C, Pam W, Lynn F, Barb N, Marion G, Dinie G, Sue T, Janet B, Annette S, Sharyn D, Trish W, and 2 friends of Marion's whose names I cannot recall.  Sorry.

Embroidery Christmas Lunch

Well the Christmas lunches have started, with Embroidery group enjoying a wonderful lunch at Jessica's home.  Our swap decoration this year was an embroidered boot.  As usual Barb decided to expand on the idea and design her own, of course the lovely white one.

This being my last meeting, it was lovely to have a nice lunch together.

Our swapped boots.

Fence weaving photos

Weaving the fence at Magnetic Island
Eight members of Fibres and Fabrics travelled to Magnetic Island to weave creations on the fence at Nelly Bay. We were invited by the Magnetic Island Bay Dayz festival to try to hide an ugly hole.  We had two very busy days weaving and creating and working with about 8 Magnetic Islanders and tourists who came to help. We were on public display as we were right where everyone gets on and off the ferry so we had a lot of very positive comments.  I am hoping that the weaving/cross stitch will continue as there are still about 50 panels to cover.
