On Friday, 21st August, a group of very lucky Fibre-ers set off by bus and car for the Ayr Quilt Show. The exhibition of beautiful quilts and embroidery was absolutely stunning. I was so impressed by so much work of such a wonderful standard achieved by a group probably a third in number to Fibres. (Yes I know we're not all quilters and we do lots of diverse things - but it was impressive.) It was well worth the visit. After we'd had a good look and absorbed some ideas for the future from what we'd seen, we were served the most scrumptous morning tea. Then we fell into groups and set off to explore the retail and other delights of Ayr before finding places to have lunch and a chat. It was a contented and happy lot of people who travelled back home that afternoon.(To see more of the trip please click on the photo above.)
