Onions, Tea, Bleach, Rust and Vinegar!

At Creative Arts last Friday Annette led a workshop on using onion skins to dye fabric with variations when using egg, tea and rust combinations. Marion led a workshop on using bleach to make imprints on cloth. Both gave the participants a lot of fun and the observers enjoyed watching the processes in action.

Magnetic Island Crafters visit and show and tell

We had our annual visit with the Magnetic Island Craft group yesterday, this year it was their turn to come over the sea to visit us.  Magnetic Island is a 20 minute boat ride away from Townsville and a wonderful tropical island to visit and spend time on.  It is home to a very active craft group that support a number of charities throughout the year.

A wonderful day was enjoyed by all of us, Possum Hollow was buzzing with chat and activity from the moment the ladies arrived to the itme they all had to run to catch the ferry home.  We all left with our bellies full of wonderful food and our heads full of inspiration.

Hiya, we met today, had lots of fun and there were a lot of members attending today, so we got a little noisy...  much chatting and laughter..  as per usual.  Below are some pictures from show and tell, I've grouped the postcards together, there were quite a few from the May pack 'Browned Off'.

Creative Group crinoline day

Hi, today we had a class on what to do with crinoline, taught by Barb.  It was great fun and some great artworks resulted..
As with all groups there are many ideas on how things should be done, even when it comes to how the samples pieces should be displayed...  as you can see by the first photo..  many hands....

The collage above show the works in progress with many hands...

This collage shows the completed pieces viewed on black (Marions trousers)..

Wearable Art Exhibition

On Saturday, 21st April, a most successful morning was held in Possum Hollow, organised by Margaret W to share the fun and incredible work done by the Creative Group. All manner of recycled, rejuvenated and altered items were turned into creative wearable art. For a slideshow of some of the treasures we were treated to click on the photo below. (Not yet, sorry, am still working on it! I think Picasa's got a problem? Come back later please?)
This was the People's Choice, Marion's Fish. And here she is with her prize.
